Matching Process
Representatives from BIST and all seven BIST centres have carefully matched mentors and mentees based on your profiles to ensure the best possible fit. You have already been informed of your assigned mentor.
Commitment
Before starting your meetings, you are required to sign the commitment letter that was sent to you. If you haven’t done so yet, please complete this step as soon as possible.
Starting the Meetings
As stated in the programme’s FAQ (https://mentoring.bist.eu/faqs/), it is the mentee’s responsibility to contact their mentor and take the initiative in arranging the first meeting. We encourage you to reach out as soon as possible to introduce yourself and schedule your first conversation.
What is Expected of a Mentee?
Take an active role in the mentoring relationship by:
- Preparing topics or questions for your meetings
- Reflecting on your goals and expectations
- Being open to feedback and new perspectives
- Following up on agreed actions
Please remember that this programme focuses on career development. Mentors are not expected to provide scientific input or guidance on experiments.
Evaluation
Since this is a flexible programme where meetings are scheduled at your own pace, we rely on your feedback to understand how it is progressing. You will receive three feedback forms:
- One at the beginning (around one month after matching)
- One mid-programme (around summer)
- One at the end (around November)
