Matching Process
Representatives from BIST and all seven BIST centres have carefully matched mentors and mentees based on your profile to ensure the best possible fit. You have already been notified of your assigned mentee(s).
Commitment
You have also received a commitment letter to sign before starting your meetings. If you haven’t done so yet, please complete this step as soon as possible.
Starting the Meetings
As stated in the programme’s FAQ (https://mentoring.bist.eu/faqs/), it is the mentee’s responsibility to contact their mentor. However, if your mentee hasn’t reached out, feel free to take the initiative if you consider it appropriate.
What is Expected of a Mentor?
- Guide your mentee by listening to their needs, offering advice, sharing experiences, or providing useful contacts.
- Avoid giving scientific input or guidance on experiments, as the programme focuses on career development.
Evaluation
Since this is a flexible programme where meetings are scheduled at your own pace, we rely on your feedback to understand how it is progressing. You will receive three feedback forms:
- One at the beginning (around one month after matching)
- One mid-programme (around summer)
- One at the end (around November)
